Commentary: The following answers with the method of conversion. It has three parts: first, declaring the answer in words; next, specifically revealing the characteristics of the words; after that, explaining the reason for the words. This is the first. Now, those who carry out conversion always act to suit what is appropriate. Since what is appropriate is difficult to subdue, the conversion must be unyielding. By guiding and benefiting them with words, initial beings can comply; if one were to attract them with fragrances and tastes, they would become contrary and stubborn. Therefore, he transforms that difficult-to-subdue assembly with harsh and unyielding words.
