6.186

贊曰：五問淨土之因也。此土菩薩行前十法，住在地前，成熟幾法，不毀此法、無傷善行？或不毀善，無傷起惡，得住十地，後生淨土。若已住十地，任運生淨土，不假此問也。

Commentary: Fifth, inquiring into the causes of a pure land. When bodhisattvas in this land practice the preceding ten dharmas, dwelling before the bhūmis, by maturing how many dharmas do they not ruin this dharma and not harm wholesome practice? Or, without ruining goodness and without harm arousing evil, they are able to dwell in the ten bhūmis and later be born in a pure land. If they already dwell in the ten bhūmis, they are born in a pure land naturally, without requiring this question.
