合十一品正陳本宗分中有三：上來九品，明菩薩境；此之一品，明菩薩行，識境方起菩薩行故。菩薩之義，如上已釋。行者因業，菩薩所修成佛因業，此品廣明，名菩薩行品。

Within the division of the eleven chapters that properly set forth the fundamental teaching, there are three parts: the preceding nine chapters explained the realm (viṣaya) of the bodhisattva; this single chapter explains bodhisattva practice (caryā), because bodhisattva practice only arises when one recognizes the realm. The meaning of 'bodhisattva' has been explained above. 'Practice' is causal action; the causal action cultivated by bodhisattvas that accomplishes Buddhahood is broadly clarified in this chapter, hence it is named 'Chapter on Bodhisattva Practice'.
