6.25

贊曰：下第二選誰能往求。有四：一問眾、二默答、三重徵、四返責。此初文也。推眾不能，方施自化，欲顯讓以為德，故禮推於眾也。

Commentary: The second part below concerns choosing who can go to seek it. It has four aspects: first, asking the assembly; second, replying with silence; third, questioning again; fourth, reproaching in return. This is the first aspect. Knowing that the assembly cannot do it, only then does he employ his own emanation; wishing to show deference as a virtue, he courteously defers to the assembly.
