贊曰：此合也。食如藥王，惑同眾毒。准此法喻，唯喻得道斷惑根本，不喻種姓創發心等，未斷惑故。或復此喻通喻一切伏斷正斷，皆名除故。

Commentary: This is the application. The food is like the king of medicines; afflictions are like various poisons. According to this doctrine and analogy, it only analogizes attaining the path and severing the root of afflictions, not the gotra, initial arousing of the aspiration, and so forth, because afflictions have not yet been severed. Or again, this analogy broadly illustrates all suppression and severing as well as genuine severing, for both are termed "removal."
