Commentary: Below shows other buddha-fields. There are fourteen kinds, divided into four groups: the first ten kinds involve distinct, individual awakenings; next, there are two kinds that involve awakening to the three natures; next, there is one kind that awakens to the path through speech; finally, there is one kind that realizes phenomena through quiescence—these are termed Buddha-deeds. In the first five kinds, by beholding radiance or being touched by radiance, all sufferings are removed, because one contemplates obtaining wisdom to eradicate the darkness of delusion. Seeing the Bodhi tree, one contemplates the growth of the tree of awakening and arouses the four apramāṇas, thereby sheltering the multitude of sentient beings. Seeing Bodhisattvas arouse the aspiration and practice, one aspires to be of the same kind, just as one might be mindful of Kṣitigarbha and not mindful of Śākyamuni. Seeing the marks and signs of the Buddha, one arouses the aspiration with joyful delight, detesting the body of saṃsāra and obtaining great fruits. By seeing transformed persons, one's faculties and capacity mature, and knowing the Buddha's spiritual efficacy, one gives rise to aspirational joy.
