贊曰：佛止。有三：初會昔名多聞第一、次總止之不應高測、後校量勝劣。此初也。

The Commentary says: The Buddha stops him. There are three parts: first, reconciling his former title of 'foremost in having heard much'; next, generally stopping him from trying to measure what is elevated; finally, weighing superior and inferior. This is the first [part].
