The Commentary says: This explains what was stated previously regarding what they repented and felt shame for. The sphere of Buddhas is inconceivable, and exists for the sake of sentient beings. Because at that time I could not fathom it, I had a mind of repentance. 'Just as sentient beings' means that the aspirations of sentient beings are not just of one kind. 'Just so' means that the Buddha's acts of benefiting and giving joy are also not just of one kind. In accordance with the various things those sentient beings delight in, the Buddha manifests various bodies and lands for them. Because I previously did not know this, I conceived thoughts of inferiority; now having known this, I give rise to repentance and shame.
