Commentary: Here there are two clauses. First, constantly having few desires and not seeking much, being content and seeking no more, because of cultivating the eight realizations of great beings and so forth, wishing to make the world love and respect oneself so as to receive one's transformation; if by nature one sought much, and having obtained still sought more, the world would not respect oneself and would not accept one's transformation. Second, though conforming to the world, remaining undefiled by worldly dharmas. This concludes the forty clauses.
