贊曰：此有二句。一讀誦為勝伴。若讀若誦，身為菩薩，教為法佛，讀誦不離，名二為伴。二受持便攝正法。若有受持，便攝正法。攝者苞綜，受者領納。任持在心，恒無忘失，便為攝受無上正法。無上正法，體即大乘教理行果。

Commentary: Here there are two lines: (1) Reading and reciting serve as supreme companions. If reading or reciting, one's person is a bodhisattva and the teaching is the Dharma Buddha; reading and reciting without parting is called the two being companions. (2) Receiving and holding immediately embraces the true Dharma. If one receives and holds it, one immediately embraces the true Dharma. "Embracing" means subsuming comprehensively; "receiving" means taking in. Holding it firmly in mind without ever forgetting, one immediately embraces the unsurpassed true Dharma. The essence of the unsurpassed true Dharma is the teaching, principle, practice, and fruit of the Mahāyāna.
