Commentary: Below, it explains the benefits of practicing supreme deeds. Regarding those who practice as it should be, there are seven phrases in total, divided into three pairs; or, applying generally to the aforementioned inferior deeds, all possess these capabilities: first, blocking the bad paths and opening the good paths; second, encountering good conditions and departing from bad conditions; third, obtaining wisdom to contemplate the sublime realm. This is the first. As for the three bad destinies, they are perilous and evil paths, which one is well able to close and block. As for the destinies of humans and gods, they are level and smooth roads, which one is well able to clear and open. Or, the bad destinies are bad fruits, and the perilous paths are bad causes; the good destinies are good fruits, and the smooth roads are good causes. This is because one is skilled at clearing or blocking these two paths.
