6.604

贊曰：次滅後校量。有二：初供舍利以起塔、後經時以供養。此初有三：初供舍利、次造塔量、後明莊飾。窣堵波者，先云浮圖，音訛略也。此云高顯，量闊四洲，上至梵世。上安表柱輪盤，傍設香華幡蓋，間以眾寶，供以伎樂，最為第一。

Commentary: Next, the comparative evaluation after the parinirvāṇa. There are two parts: first, offering to the relics by raising a stūpa; second, making offerings over a period of time. In this first part there are three: first, offering to the relics; next, the size of the stūpa built; finally, explaining the adornments. As for sūdūbō (stūpa), it was formerly called fútú, an erroneous and abbreviated transliteration. Here it is called 'high and prominent'. In breadth it spans the four continents, and above it reaches up to the Brahmā world. On top are set mast-pillars and wheel-disks; to the sides are arranged incense, flowers, banners, and canopies, interspersed with various jewels, and offered with musical entertainment; it is the most supreme.
