贊曰：三月蓋思益。有五：一思益、二空告、三尋問、四天答、五申請。此初也。我今殷重，處世已無。更若有過，當修彼法。

Commentary: Three: Candrachattra pondering benefits. This has five parts: 1. Pondering benefits; 2. Announcement from the sky; 3. Inquiring; 4. The deity's answer; 5. Making the request. This is the first. [He thought:] 'I am now earnest, and in the world there is nothing [greater]; if there were anything surpassing this, I should cultivate that practice.'
