贊曰：此有六句。一菩提分法行所隨行，隨教行於菩提分故。二七等覺支親能導發，謂教是覺支親所導引、親所發起。若七覺支，是教親導、親所發起，與菩提分正所隨行，便無差別。舊云「眾經之上」，由覺支引，故為上也。三能辨說能開示大慈大悲。四拔濟有情苦，引安樂與有情。或由說慈悲，故能拔苦。舊經無此。五遠離五見六十二見趣，及離四魔怨。六分別闡揚十二緣起。

Commentary: Here there are six phrases: 1. Followed by the practice of the bodhipakṣa-dharmas, because one practices the bodhipakṣa[-dharmas] according to the teaching. 2. Directly able to guide and arouse the seven limbs of awakening: meaning the teaching is what directly guides and directly arouses the limbs of awakening. If the seven limbs of awakening are directly guided and directly aroused by the teaching, there is no difference from being directly followed by the bodhipakṣa[-dharmas]. The older version says "above all scriptures"; being guided by the limbs of awakening, it is therefore supreme. 3. Able to explain and reveal great kindness and great compassion. 4. Rescuing sentient beings from suffering and bringing well-being to sentient beings; or, because kindness and compassion are spoken of, it can rescue from suffering. The older sūtra lacks this. 5. Remaining far away from the five views, the sixty-two view-tendencies, and free from the enmity of the four Māras. 6. Distinguishing and expounding the twelvefold pratītyasamutpāda.
