贊曰：此有四句。一除棄六蔽。舊但云「能救毀禁」，唯是戒度所除之蔽。二驚怖外道惡見他倫執著。三開諸有情善法勢力，令生長故。四摧伏惡魔，舊經令此與外道同。

Commentary: Here there are four phrases: 1. Casting off the six hindrances. The older version merely says "able to save those who violate precepts," which is only the hindrance eliminated by the perfection of morality. 2. Terrifying the attachments of non-Buddhists and others of evil views. 3. Opening up the power of good dharmas in sentient beings to make them grow. 4. Subduing evil Māras; the older sūtra made this identical with non-Buddhists.
