贊曰：此明所化多少。有三：一令證大乘四不退位。二令於二乘心善調順，得阿羅漢果。《佛地經》初讚無學德，心調順故。三引無種姓令生天上。初二有姓隨得三乘，後一無姓故生天上。

The Commentary says: This explains the number of those transformed. There are three parts: 1. causing them to realize the four irreversible stages of the Mahāyāna; 2. causing them to make their minds well-tamed in the two vehicles and attain the fruit of an arhat. At the beginning of the Buddhabhūmi-sūtra, the virtues of the aśaikṣa are praised because of their minds being well-tamed. 3. Guiding those of no spiritual lineage to be born in the heavens. The first two have a lineage and accordingly attain the three vehicles; the latter has no lineage, hence they are born in the heavens.
