贊曰：以下古即今。此即千子。此中千子，且說一緣。更有別緣，如《千佛因緣經》并《藥王藥上經》，乃《彌勒上生疏》解第一迦洛迦忖陀佛、第二迦洛迦牟尼佛、第三迦葉波佛、第四釋迦牟尼佛，已出世訖。餘當來出世，劫數次第時位，一一皆如《上生疏》解。

The Commentary says: Below, identifying the ancient with the present. This identifies the thousand sons. Among them, the thousand sons are here described according to one condition. There are other conditions, as in the Sūtra on the Causes and Conditions of the Thousand Buddhas, the Sūtra on Bhaiṣajyarāja and Bhaiṣajyasamudgata, and the Commentary on Maitreya's Ascent, explaining that the first Buddha, Krakucchanda; the second Buddha, Kanakamuni; the third Buddha, Kāśyapa; and the fourth Buddha, Śākyamuni, have already appeared in the world. As for the rest who will appear in the world in the future, the sequence of kalpas and their times and stages are all explained as in the Commentary on Maitreya's Ascent.
