贊曰：下顯。有二：初徵、後顯。顯中分二：初二於法、後二於人。此初也。一於未聞能生二事：一驚怖疑，心不隨喜，故生違背。二設聞已，背處誹謗、對前輕毀，言非我昔所聞，從何處來？從無來由，以生謗毀。

Commentary: Below is revealing [them]. There are two parts: first, inquiring; second, revealing. Within the revelation, it is divided into two: the first two are in regard to the Dharma; the latter two are in regard to persons. This is the first. First, regarding what has not been heard, they can generate two things: First, alarm, fear, and doubt, their minds not rejoicing in accord with it, and thus generating opposition. Second, even if they have heard it, they slander it behind its back and slight it to its face, saying, 'This is not what I heard in the past; from where did it come?' From it having no origin, they thus generate slander and slighting.
