贊曰：下文亦三，此初標也。無生法忍相續得者，在於八地。前說新學不得初地，此說有學不得八地，或亦不得初地。

Commentary: The text below also has three parts; this is the first, marking it out. The attainment of the uninterrupted succession of patience toward the unproduced nature of phenomena lies in the eighth ground. Previously it was said that newly trained [bodhisattvas] do not attain the first ground; here it is said that those who have training do not attain the eighth ground, or perhaps they also do not attain the first ground.
