贊曰：下顯。有二：初徵、後顯。初二於人，後二於法。一輕新學；二於新學不樂攝受以為子、又不樂告誨示其學處、不樂教授與其善法、不樂教誡勅勿造惡。由此二緣，令新學者無所進修。舊云「而不教誨」，即第二也。

Commentary: Below is revealing [them]. There are two parts: first, inquiring; second, revealing. The first two are in regard to persons; the latter two are in regard to the Dharma. First, slighting newly trained [practitioners]; second, toward newly trained [practitioners], not taking joy in gathering them in as their own children, not taking joy in exhorting and showing them their training rules, not taking joy in instructing them with wholesome dharmas, and not taking joy in admonishing and enjoining them not to create evil. Due to these two conditions, newly trained [practitioners] have nothing to advance and cultivate. The old [sūtra] says 'and not instructing them,' which is the second.
