Commentary: The upper two phrases reveal the virtue of expounding the Dharma in the assembly without fear. The lower two phrases reveal the virtue of the voice expounding the Dharma being profound and vast. Because they are untainted by any defilements, ignorance has ceased to operate, and they do not discriminate whether self or other is superior to oneself, when expounding the Dharma in the assembly they do not see anyone who can surpass themselves; therefore, they are fearless like a lion's roar. In lecturing and discussing, their voice is like thunder, reverberating and rumbling, deep and grand. Among the five voices mentioned before, this is the first.
