Commentary: From here down, it reveals that the Buddha truly has no illness or distress, and also reveals that the dharmakāya has no illness. In brief, there are ten phrases in five pairs: First, it is the dharmakāya, not a composite, defiled body. This is the body constituted by dharmas of merit, so it is called the dharmakāya. It is not the tathatā-body, because this is an active, phenomenal body; nor is it a composite body mixed with afflictions and manifold sufferings. Second, it is a supramundane body, not a worldly body. 'Supramundane' means it cannot be destroyed and is not what the path counteracts; it is not like the worldly [body] that is perishable, destructible, and counteracted by the path. Therefore, worldly matters such as illness and distress cannot defile it.
