Regarding the "city of Rājagṛha": The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa extensively sets forth its circumstances. When first established among the five mountains, it burned seven times and was built seven times; the king came to dwell here, hence it was called "the King's Abode" (Rājagṛha). It is also said, "Other houses were burned, but the king's house was not burned. Afterwards, all arranged to claim they were the king's house, and thereby escaped being burned. From then on, it was called 'Rājagṛha'." In contemplative interpretation: the five aggregates are the house, and the mind-king dwells in them; hence it is called "Rājagṛha."
