三、真諦師，二：初、判文。真諦三藏於梁世重譯此經，名〈金光明帝王經〉，更加四品，謂〈三身分別品〉、〈滅業障品〉、〈陀羅尼淨地品〉、〈依空滿願品〉，足讖本十八凡二十二品，而出疏解釋，故云新文等也。二、「真諦」下，明義。仍斥江南以〈授記〉、〈除病〉悉在流通，故云後師弟因果等也，合云師因弟果現文似倒。

Third, Master Paramārtha, in two [parts]: first, judging the text. Tripiṭaka Master Paramārtha retranslated this sūtra during the Liang dynasty, naming it the Sūtra of the Sovereign of Golden Light, and added four chapters—namely, the Chapter on the Distinction of the Three Bodies, the Chapter on the Eradication of Karmic Obstacles, the Chapter on Dhāraṇī and Pure Grounds, and the Chapter on Fulfilling Vows Relying on Emptiness—bringing Dharmakṣema's eighteen chapters to twenty-two chapters in total, and put forth a commentary to explain it; hence it is called the "new text," and so forth. Second, from "Paramārtha" onward, clarifying the meaning. He still refutes the south of the River for placing "Bestowal of Prophecy" and "Curing Illness" entirely in the transmission division, hence he mentions "the cause and effect of the latter master and disciple," and so forth; it should properly say "the cause of the master and the effect of the disciple," so the present text seems inverted.
