1.127

初、以因況果。不惟能詶是佛作序，兼顯如來定不妨說。以《法華》文驗佛敘述正在定中，豈千萬偈局在正宗？以況果佛口密赴機，豈但正說不作序通？是故結云何所不為。

First, using the cause to illustrate the fruit. Not only can he respond that it was the Buddha who composed the preface, but he also concurrently reveals that the Tathāgata being in samādhi does not hinder his speaking. Using the text of the Saddharmapuṇḍarīka Sūtra as evidence, the Buddha's narration took place precisely while he was in samādhi; how could thousands of millions of verses be restricted solely to the main body? Using this to illustrate the oral secret of the fruition Buddha responding to capacities, how could he only deliver the main discourse and not produce a preface? Therefore he concludes by saying: what is there that he does not do?
