初、約義釋。《法華文句》三身各有如義來義，今以法報相冥釋如，乃以應身出世釋來，但使義成通別無在。佛若順智應如祕藏，祗為順悲故來三界。

First, interpreting in terms of principle. In the Saddharmapuṇḍarīka Sūtra Wenju, each of the three bodies has a sense of "tathā" (thusness) and a sense of "āgata" (come). Here, he interprets tathā by the mutual merger of the Dharma and Reward bodies, and interprets āgata by the Response body appearing in the world; as long as the principle is established, whether shared or distinct is immaterial. If the Buddha conforms to wisdom, he accords with the secret store of tathā; solely because he conforms to compassion, he comes to the three realms.
