初、示三法體。能破勝法，在境智行。如將破賊，須身力健、次權謀深、次兵器利。二依於身，故喻於境。身須有謀，故喻於智。謀要兵助，故喻於行。此三若備，三障必忘。

First, indicating the essence of the three dharmas. The superior dharma capable of destroying resides in realm, wisdom, and practice. Just as when a general is to defeat rebels, he must first have physical vigor, next have deep tactical scheming, and next have sharp weapons: the [latter] two rely on the body, which is thus an analogy for the realm; the body must possess schemes, which is thus an analogy for wisdom; schemes require weapons to assist them, which is thus an analogy for practice. If these three are complete, the three obstacles will surely be forgotten.
