初、明位位有似。已證名真，未證名似。普賢等覺，望極名似，故立賢名。

First, explaining that each rank has semblance. Having realized is called true; not yet having realized is called semblance. Samantabhadra and equal awakening, viewed in comparison to the ultimate, are called semblance; hence the name "virtuous" (xian) is established.
