三、「初地」下，總歎。法性功德不可窮盡，此地能稱法性顯德，故使諸佛不能盡說。止十相者，經家略舉也。梗介者，介應作概，聲之誤也。云梗概，粗略也。

Third, from "the first ground" down, general praise. The merits of the Dharma-nature cannot be exhausted; this ground is able to accord with the Dharma-nature and reveal virtues, so that all Buddhas cannot exhaustively explain it. Limiting them to ten marks is merely a brief citation by the compiler of the sūtra. As for *gengjie*, *jie* should be *gai*, which is a phonetic error. Saying *genggai* means rough and general.
