初、略示。自行功德即自行因果，化他功德即化他能所。此與《法華》十妙意同。

First, brief indication. Merits of one's own practice are the cause and effect of one's own practice; merits of transforming others are the capacity and object of transforming others. This shares the same intent as the ten subtleties of the *Lotus Sūtra*.
