二、「念釋」下，正騰所疑。一切功德依壽得住，其壽既促，眾德奚為？故皆不疑，但念壽短。此覆不騰，莫能決了。

Second, from 'Reflecting on Śākya...' onward, raising the doubt itself. All merits abide relying on lifespan; if his lifespan is so short, of what use are his many merits? Therefore, he does not doubt any of them, but only reflects on the shortness of lifespan. If this hidden doubt is not raised, it cannot be resolved.
