初、明八眾攝菩薩。經列八眾雖已分明，但闕菩薩，故約生法權實示之。法性土者，方便實報也，既不居此故不在言。

First, clarifying that the eightfold assembly subsumes bodhisattvas. Although the sūtra's listing of the eightfold assembly is already clear, it merely lacks bodhisattvas; therefore, they are shown in terms of the provisional and real of birth and dharma. As for the land of Dharma-nature: it is the expedient and the real reward [lands]; since they do not dwell here, they are not mentioned.
