二、取相。由以定心想成勝相，熏修力強能轉惡業，是故能滅性遮二罪。「如伐」下，枝葉喻性遮罪，根本喻無明也。心惑既存，罪可重作，如枝葉續生也。既對遮性辨於無明，故此無明通界內外，此即通小之相也。

Second, obtaining signs. Because through a concentrated mind one visualizes and accomplishes superior signs, the power of habitual cultivation is strong and able to transform evil karma; therefore, it can eradicate both inherent and prescriptive offenses. From 'like felling' onward: The branches and leaves illustrate inherent and prescriptive offenses, while the root illustrates fundamental ignorance. Since mental delusion still persists, offenses can be committed again, just as branches and leaves continue to grow. Since fundamental ignorance is distinguished in contrast to prescriptive and inherent [offenses], this fundamental ignorance extends to both within and beyond the [three] realms; this is the characteristic of being shared with the Hīnayāna.
