Second, from "Seeing this" onward, generally concludes the preceding meanings. As for the "three Buddhas": the drum signifies the Dharma Buddha, the light signifies the retribution Buddha, and the radiance signifies the manifestation Buddha. Since each of these three Buddhas possesses the three meanings, this reveals that every single dharma possesses the three: in brief, there are the ten kinds of threefold dharmas; in extenso, everything is threefold. When these threefold dharmas are interpreted in accordance with the metaphor, they are the threefold dharmas symbolized by the mundane golden light. When interpreted directly according to their actual essence by adhering to the text, they are all the golden light of the Dharma. This is because each and every one possesses the three: the meaning of being precious and venerable, the meaning of being quiescent and ever-illuminating, and the meaning of being able to provide abundant benefit. Since its meanings are such, this sūtra is therefore titled "Suvarṇaprabhāsa" (Golden Light). These signified meanings are derived from the Great Master's attainment of the revolving dhāraṇī, whereby within one he understands the immeasurable and within the immeasurable he understands the one; therefore his explanation of the title and interpretation of the text are perfectly integrated like this. Those who see and hear it should cast aside emotional attachments and contemplate and cultivate it.
