3.235

初、約三學。乃以事三表於三學。由慧得道故如姓貴，定能資慧故如財寶，戒能制犯故如盛年。「染此」下，示為障相。《大論》云「自法愛染故，毀訾他人法。雖持禁戒人，不脫地獄苦。」非求法者，法過涅槃尚了如幻，豈染自法以慢他人？不見己他，方名求法也。

First, in terms of the three learnings. The three phenomenal aspects are taken to represent the three learnings. Because one attains the Path through wisdom, it is like nobility of clan; because concentration can assist wisdom, it is like wealth and treasures; because precepts can restrain transgressions, it is like the prime of life. From 'being stained by this' onward, showing the marks of being an obstacle. The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa states: 'Because of love and attachment to one's own teaching, one defames the teachings of others. Although one may be a person who upholds the restrictive precepts, one does not escape the suffering of hell.' Those who are not seekers of the Dharma—the Dharma surpasses nirvāṇa, yet one still understands it to be like an illusion; how could one be stained by one's own teaching so as to be arrogant toward others? Only when one sees neither self nor other is one called a seeker of the Dharma.
