初、世界。思疑佛壽者，即前經云「作是思惟心生疑惑」也。一心信解者，開悟也，即經云「信相聞是四佛宣說壽命，深心信解」也。斯人者，相信也。本事者，今之所為皆由昔願，令眾歡喜，故屬世界。

First, the worldly. Thinking and doubting about the Buddha's life span refers to the earlier sūtra stating: "pondering thus, a doubt arose in his mind." Single-mindedly believing and understanding refers to awakening, which is the sūtra stating: "Ruciraketu, hearing these four Buddhas proclaim the life span, deeply believed and understood in his heart." "This person" refers to Ruciraketu. Past events refers to the fact that what is done now is entirely due to past vows; causing the assembly to rejoice belongs to the worldly.
