4.102

初、檢假名。由一念妄想者，謂男託胎時，見母為所取境、見父是所競境，於母起貪、於父起瞋，父流謂是己有，乘茲妄念故得託胎。女人反是。委如《大經》。假名始者，男女之名由此妄想而為始也。

First, examining the provisional designation. "Due to a single thought of deluded imagination" means: when a male enters the womb, he sees the mother as an object of desire and the father as a rival; he gives rise to greed toward the mother and anger toward the father, and thinking the father's discharge to be his own, he is conceived in the womb by virtue of this deluded thought. For a female it is the opposite. This is detailed in the Great Sūtra. "The beginning of provisional designations" means that the names male and female have their beginning in this deluded thought.
