4.133

初、揀苦從集。苦是世間果、集是世間因，此之因果皆因緣生。今之所辨雖然涉苦果，其意乃明集之因緣。

First, selecting suffering as deriving from origination. Suffering is the fruit of the worldly, and origination is the cause of the worldly; both this cause and fruit arise from causes and conditions. Although what is now distinguished involves the fruit of suffering, its intention is to clarify the causes and conditions of origination.
