初、總示異前。言別菩薩者，非是別教，乃是圓人，異偏小故稱為別也，故云永異。

First, universally indicating the difference from the preceding. The statement 'distinct bodhisattva' does not mean the distinct teaching; it is rather a person of the round teaching, called 'distinct' because of differing from the biased and small; hence it is said to be 'forever different'.
