Third, explaining the lighting of the torch. From 'The shared teaching' downward, in each case it takes the stages of transforming others belonging to that teaching. Here, saying the eighth ground does not take being received and transferred; it only concerns emerging into provisionality according to that teaching, where the path and contemplation flow together. Regarding the distinct teaching taking the ten dedications, the intent is also like this, because internally one cultivates the middle contemplation, and externally one also emerges into provisionality. The round teaching being in the first abidance is because one manifests as a Buddha in a hundred realms, appearing universally through all gates. The round is spoken of from the superior perspective, taking the partial realization of truth. The *Great Calming and Insight* names it the stage of emerging into provisionality of the true [realization]. From 'All are' downward, concluding and indicating the three stages. 'Path' refers to external transformation; 'contemplation' refers to internal practice. This subsumes the three teachings, unlike other texts that speak solely with respect to the shared.
