初、正示。境非智外，豈以偏小智之可知？識即是境，豈以六凡識之可識？此明絕思也。境離名字，豈以諸法名字名之？境離言說，豈以四句言說說之？此明絕議也。

First, directly showing. Since the object is not outside wisdom, how could it be known by one-sided and lesser wisdom? Consciousness is itself the object; how could it be cognized by the consciousness of the six ordinary beings? This clarifies that it transcends thought. Since the object is separated from names and characters, how could it be named by the names of all dharmas? Since the object is separated from spoken words, how could it be spoken by the words of the four propositions? This clarifies that it transcends debate.
