三、「一切」下一行半，愍凡聖不知請現。樹神以凡夫小聖共迷佛所遊境界，故請佛現身，即令明見唯心佛現。經「五通神仙」者，別舉人趣中有術成仙者發得五通，雖有他心、宿命，而不知佛所遊定照理起應不離眾生心體。無漏二乘雖有三明六通，亦昧佛境唯心，故曰亦不能知也。

Third, the line and a half from "All..." requests [his] manifestation out of pity for ordinary beings and noble ones who do not know. Because ordinary beings and lesser noble ones are alike deluded concerning the realm traversed by the Buddha, the tree goddess requests the Buddha to manifest his body, so that they may clearly see the manifestation of the mind-only Buddha. The sūtra mentions "ṛṣis with five supernormal powers": this specifically mentions those among the human destiny who have attained the status of immortals through arts and acquired the five supernormal powers; although they possess knowledge of others' minds and past lives, they do not know that the Buddha's dwelling in samādhi to illuminate principle and generate responses is not separate from the essence of sentient beings' minds. Although the untainted [practitioners of] the two vehicles possess the three clarities and six supernormal powers, they are likewise blind to the fact that the Buddha's realm is mind-only; hence it says: "They also cannot know."
