初、事。因緣十號，且就能詮，屬言教故，同於水食，名為事也。

First, phenomena. Conditioned origination and the ten epithets, considered tentatively according to what expresses them, pertain to verbal teachings, hence they are the same as water and food, and are called phenomena.
