First, demonstrating the contemplation of the truths that can purify. "One mind" is the mind of views and thoughts. Contemplating this stained mind as being itself the pure nature—this nature is neither shallow nor narrow, reaching the source of the three truths. Giving rise to contemplation entirely from the truth is precisely emptiness, provisionality, and the middle. Being identical to emptiness, it is unstained by stain; being identical to provisionality, it is unstained by purity; being identical to twofold occlusion, it is unstained by the two extremes; being identical to twofold illumination, it is unstained by the Middle Way. The three truths and threefold contemplation take place in just a single thought-moment; subject and object are not distinct, and the middle and extremes are both pure.
