Second, from "The chapter on repentance" onward, judging that the three chapters all clarify function. The principal theme of the Buddha's wisdom reveals the substance of the Dharma-nature; this is precisely called the theme and substance of the sūtra. All sentient beings take this theme and substance as their original mind; if they can repent, praise, and cultivate the two emptinesses, the wondrous function of the Buddha arises in its entirety, causing these sentient beings to eradicate evil and produce good, and bringing forth the function of emptiness to guide and accomplish the two functions; hence it says the three chapters are all the sūtra's function.
