Second, citing this sūtra has two parts: first, the citation. "I" is the true self; apart from the person, there is no Dharma. The Dharma is the permanently abiding five aggregates that are embraced; these aggregates serve as a dwelling, universal covering sentient beings. King Ajātaśatru spoke a verse understanding the supreme truth, which is called taking refuge in the World-Honoured One. Now this sūtra says, "I will be a place of refuge"; the former is the stimulus and this is the response, their meaning being entirely obliterated [into oneness].
