First, listing the six propositions. 'Neither-nor' is the Middle; setting aside the name 'Middle' and retaining 'neither-nor' is because the name 'Middle Way' is rarely established in heterodox and Hinayāna paths, whereas the name 'neither-nor' is found everywhere. Therefore it is specially used to distinguish identity and difference against the present Complete emptiness. Furthermore, the propositions of emptiness and of double negation in the heterodox, two vehicles, and Distinct teachings are, in essence, conceivable, destructible dharmas. When the Complete teaching's double negation and emptiness are established, all [other] meanings are extinguished; thus, the two Complete ones mutually refute all the other sets of two. Moreover, the various sets of two mutually cultivate: the two Complete ones refer to heterodox practitioners and bodhisattvas entering the Complete during the two curds; the initial mind of the two vehicles also possesses the meaning of cultivation. In these two pairs, the various sets of two differ in superiority and inferiority compared to the Complete. The third pair belongs to the Complete teaching itself; their names differ but their essence is the same, therefore they are mutually identical, without speaking of cultivation or refutation.
