First, those of identical conditions. Gathering the identical conditions of the past; this sūtra does not state them, or they appear in that other sūtra. Second, properly granting the prophecy. Regarding the world changing its name to Pure Banner, one should discuss the four propositions: First, the name changes while the land does not change; changing the name to Pure Banner is this. Second, the land changes while the name does not change; as when ancient Śākyamuni acquired a land named Sahā, and the present Śākyamuni is also named Sahā. Third, both name and land change; as when Avalokiteśvara succeeds to Amitābha's place. Fourth, neither name nor land changes; as when now Silver Light succeeds to the Buddha Golden Banner Light's place, the world's name remains identical to the original. That it says here "is the first" is likely an error; it should say "the second."
