贊曰：標〈授記品〉已下。甚深佛行處，標〈授記品〉、〈療病品〉、〈長者子流水品〉、〈捨身品〉。無上菩提，唯佛能了，名佛所行處。〈療病〉等品是佛因行。諸佛祕密教等二句，標已下諸品。諸佛所護，要大乘根熟而方與之名祕，深妙難解名密。由此千萬劫難得聽聞，故今得聞讀，歎并付囑。

Commentary: This indicates the chapters from ‘The Chapter on the Bestowal of Prophecy’ downward. ‘The profound sphere of practice of the buddhas’ indicates ‘The Chapter on the Bestowal of Prophecy’, ‘The Chapter on Healing Illnesses’, ‘The Chapter on the Merchant’s Son Jalavāhana’, and ‘The Chapter on Relinquishing the Body’. Unsurpassed bodhi can only be fully comprehended by a buddha, hence it is called the sphere of practice of the buddhas. The chapters such as ‘Healing Illnesses’ are the Buddha's causal practices. The two lines beginning with ‘the secret teaching of all buddhas’ indicate the various chapters from here downward. That which is protected by the buddhas is imparted only when the Mahāyāna faculties are ripe—this is called ‘hidden’; that which is deep, subtle, and difficult to comprehend is called ‘secret’. Because of this, it is difficult to hear in thousands of myriads of kalpas; therefore, to now be able to hear and read it is praised and entrusted.
