贊曰：第一德。具大神通名大威德，能除不信、能生善根，猶如大龍能降雹除不信、能注雨生善芽。又有威力，準《瑜伽》三十七廣釋威力。或此威力即諸句之總，威力多種故。

Commentary: The first virtue. Possessing great supernormal powers is called 'having great majesty and virtue'; they can eliminate disbelief and can generate wholesome roots, just as a great nāga king can bring down hail to eliminate disbelief and can pour down rain to sprout wholesome shoots. Furthermore, they have majestic power; one may refer to the thirty-seventh fascicle of the Yogācārabhūmi for an extensive explanation of majestic power. Or, this majestic power is a summary of the subsequent clauses, for majestic power is of many kinds.
